About The Journal

The National Research journal of Human Resource Management (NRJHRM) ISSN: 2394-059X is a Biannual Peer-reviewed journal devoted to the publication of scholarly conceptual/theoretical articles pertaining to human resource management and allied fields (e.g. organizational behavior, industrial/organizational psychology, labor relations). Meta-analytical reviews that make a conceptual/theoretical contribution are also appropriate. It will focus on issues of function and process, preferably addressed at the micro (i.e., individual and group) level. However, the journal will also consider papers at the macro (organizational and societal) level of analysis. Its purpose is to provide a forum for ideas that will stimulate and lead to empirical research, as well as for the critical examination of existing concepts, models, and frameworks. Subject areas considered appropriate include, but are not limited to, personnel selection, compensation, performance appraisal, attraction and retention, training and development, human resource applications of computer technology, and human resource planning. All published research articles in this journal have undergone rigorous peer review, based on initial editor screening and anonymous refereeing by independent expert referees.

GENDER DIFFERENCES IN PERSONALITY TRAITS AMONG CAMPUS-PLACED PROFESSIONAL STUDENTS IN MADHYA PRADESH: AN EMPIRICAL STUDY USING 16PF
Author: Sachin Chalisgaonkar & Sujata Parwani

ABSTRACT
Personality characteristics significantly influence professional conduct, adaptability in careers, and effectiveness within organizational settings. This study investigates gender-based variations in personality traits among professionally qualified students who have secured campus placements in Madhya Pradesh. The Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (16PF)
is employed as a standardized psychological instrument to assess these traits empirically. The primary objective of the research is to explore differences between male and female students across major personality dimensions that impact employability and workplace performance.
The study is based on data collected from a diverse and representative group of campusplaced students enrolled in management, engineering, and other professional programs. Appropriate statistical methods were used to examine and interpret variations across personality factors. The results indicate significant gender-related differences in dimensions such as emotional regulation, assertiveness, sensitivity, and independence, alongside certain traits where similarities were observed. The findings offer valuable insights for recruiters, university placement cells, and educational institutions in developing inclusive and gender-responsive training, guidance, and career development programs. By presenting empirical evidence from a regional perspective, the study enhances existing employability literature and emphasizes the relevance of integrating psychological assessment tools into campus recruitment and placement practices.

Keywords: Gender-based differences, personality characteristics, 16PF, campus recruitment, professional education, Madhya Pradesh, employability, psychological measurement, empirical analysis.

UNDER DIGITAL WATCH: VALIDATING A SCALE OF FACULTY PERCEPTIONS OF ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE IN HIGHER EDUCATION
Author: Mandeep Kaur & Monica Sachdeva

ABSTRACT
Electronic surveillance technologies have become increasingly prevalent in higher education institutions, yet empirically validated instruments for measuring faculty surveillance perceptions remain limited. This study presents a rigorous psychometric development and validation of the Electronic Surveillance Perception Scale (ESPS), 19-item instrument
measuring faculty perceptions of electronic monitoring in academic environments. Following systematic scale development procedures encompassing a pilot study (n = 130) and main validation study (n = 520), exploratory factor analysis identified a robust four-factor structure: Perceived Surveillance Appropriateness (6 items, α = 0.872), Perceived Invasion of
Privacy (4 items, α = 0.883), Perceived Surveillance Effectiveness (3 items, α = 0.887), and Perceived Task Disruption (6 items, α = 0.905) (Zweig & Webster, 2002; Samaranayake & Gamage, 2012). Confirmatory factor analysis with the main sample (n = 520) validated the hypothesized model with excellent fit indices (χ²/df = 2.695, RMSEA = 0.047, CFI = 0.963, TLI = 0.956) (Brown, 2015; Hu & Bentler, 1999). All factor loadings exceeded 0.50 (range: 0.571–0.970), with composite reliability values ranging from 0.856 to 0.886 (Raykov, 1997).
Average Variance Extracted exceeded 0.50 for all dimensions, and discriminant validity was established with interconstruct correlations ranging from 0.176 to 0.487 (Chin, 1998). The
validated ESPS provides educational researchers and administrators with a theoretically grounded, psychometrically sound instrument for assessing faculty surveillance perceptions in academic workplace environments.

Keywords: electronic surveillance, scale validation, higher education, faculty perceptions, factor analysis, psychometric measurement, workplace monitoring
